Kuato – Breed
Released on September 29th 2021
"We're already on our journey out of space – crumbling, hovering. Fainting screeches, argues about technicalities, but the soaking crust wheels us in. A previous arrangement of wet bread. Or rather distorted and radioesque movements. Soothing frog screams, pleased by the amount of noise. I feel the motivation rising. Waiting in your local supermarket, cherishing your inner Jazz, while the groceries wont stop beeping trough the cashiers repetitive hand gestures. Let the industrial cracks flow, cancel all events.
So far the ending of jazz is my favourite noise part. Bad horse bet, be it an example of bad judgement and trickery, contradicting the believes that you’d win on your favourite, your chosen one. Heads resting on spiky pillows, trap us, but never for too long. I’d wish they’d play this in the grocery store.
Timely the repetition seems to have gotten the worst of me, and then it smoothly changes in unforeseeable dimensions – leaving me surprised and curious. Craving its humble confident search for the way back. Absurd faces and traces of rhythm takes me back to the horse race track. A sudden death, followed by an unhappy comeback. Taste is a shadow of the noise we produce and never pay attention to – though non knows what that’s supposed to mean. If you still haven’t found anything to distract yourself with, I’d recommend Breed – while it showed me a good story, and leaves me with wonders when once again in silence."
from the booklet:
"Recorded 2021 on a Sansui WS-X1 6track, 27th of September.
Tapeloops from 2021. This release is a document of the first KUATO steps. While working on my first (planned) release I started playing live shows and had to come up with something. This tape is a prelude of things worse to come. It's one take I rehearsed several times bumped on a used c-22 cassette. Later digitalized. No mix, no master, just pure tape compression and as loud as possible. Next one will have more tracks. Keep it ugly!"
comments:
"Haha. Very nice. Just listened to the whole thing while cooking dinner. Very joyful. The whole release flows nice together."

A mind-blowing batch of jazz-informed hardcore exploding with drill-press riffing and throat-destroying howls. Really great! Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2022
